Behind the Camera

My Approach to Photography

As a software engineer with a passion for photography, my process is much more spontaneous and intuitive than formal studio work.

The Real Process

No formal stages or complex workflows - just authentic moments captured as they happen.

See Something Interesting

See Something Interesting

Most of my best shots happen when I'm just walking around with my camera. An interesting light, an unexpected moment, or a composition that catches my eye.

Grab the Shot

Grab the Shot

I keep my camera settings fairly simple - usually aperture priority mode so I can focus on composition rather than technical settings. The best photos often happen in seconds.

Minimal Editing

Minimal Editing

I do basic editing in Lightroom - adjust exposure, contrast, maybe crop for better composition. I prefer the natural look over heavy processing.

Share What Resonates

Share What Resonates

Not every photo makes it to the gallery. I only share the ones that still give me that feeling I had when I first saw the scene.

My Gear (Keep It Simple)

I believe in keeping gear simple so I can focus on what matters - capturing the moment.

Photography Philosophy

"The best camera is the one you have with you. I'd rather capture an authentic moment with basic gear than miss it while setting up the perfect shot."

Most of my photography happens during daily life - walking to work, weekend explorations around the Netherlands, or travel. It's about being present and noticing the world around me.

As a software engineer, I appreciate the technical side of photography, but I've learned that the best photos come from genuine moments and authentic experiences, not perfect technical execution.
